Plus Size Sweaters
Home >> Plus Size Sweaters
The easiest definition of a plus womens size sweater, or any sweater, is that it's a knitted pullover. But we all know that can be sooo many things.
Sweaters are staple pieces in practically every woman's fall/winter wardrobe. Aside from the classic wool (which is rather warm and not really a plus size womans favorite in most cases), sweaters come in every color, weight, texture, style and knit imaginable.
It's definitely worth taking a little time to learn how to choose and wear the right type of plus size sweaters for you.
Plus Size Sweaters for YOUR Shape
- Plus Size Cardigans: Add drama and style to your cool weather wardrobe rather than just be an afterthought for in case it gets cold. Take the time to shop carefully. Try them on, and consider different ways to accessorize this functional and fashionable piece.
- Cashmere Sweaters: Really, who's NOT going to look and feel great in cashmere? This is best purchased in person where you can see and touch the knit.
- Plus Size Sweater Sets: As a plus woman I'm pretty well insulated ;-) , so sometimes I'm uncomfortable in sweaters because they make me too hot. Well a sweater set solves that problem. Underneath you've got a sleeveless or short sleeved sweater that looks great alone. When you feel cool or want to look more put together or professional just slip on the matching cardigan.
- Plus Size Sweater Dresses: Especially hot with boots and chunky jewelry a sweater dress on a plus size woman can help to slenderize by elongating her body with the head to toe look.
- Plus Size Pullover Sweaters: With these, and any sweater make sure the fit is good. A sweater that's too tight will make you look heavier. They're also extremely uncomfortable.
Quick Sweater Tips
- Too tight is NOT cute. I hold there is no truth to the myth that tight sweaters are attractive. A too tight plus size sweater will show every bulge and roll, not to mention just be ridiculously uncomfortable.
- A 'V' neck will slenderize your face and give the appearance of a long neck. But, if this give a bit too much cleavage just cover up with a pretty cami or use a dramatic print scarf.
- Take good care of your sweaters. Hand wash, or use gentle cycle. Don't use the dryer. That's a sure way to shrink them. Clean up pilling with razor or a depiller.
